Watch Your Mouth!
Your Language Is Leading You Somewhere
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years—both as a mom and as a leadership strategist—it’s this: the words we use create the world we live in.
In this episode of Livin’ the Rhythm, we’re digging into something that influences every part of our lives but often goes unnoticed… our language. Not just what we say out loud, but the words we think, absorb, repeat, and live into.
We’re more “connected” than ever, yet so many people feel unseen, unheard, and overwhelmed. Between texts, notifications, news, and endless scrolling, it’s easy to slip into autopilot and forget the power our words carry—especially the ones spoken to the people we care about most.
I share a story about my son that opened my eyes to how quickly we’ve replaced real connection with quick replies. I also talk about what it was like growing up in a home where “I love you” wasn’t spoken, how that shaped my love language, and why receiving compliments used to make me uncomfortable. (If you’ve ever brushed off encouragement or felt awkward accepting kindness, you’re not alone.)
Most of all, this episode unpacks the difference between affirmation, acknowledgement, and edification—three simple but powerful ways to speak life into others. These tiny shifts can change the way you lead, communicate, and show up in your relationships.
Because here’s the truth: It costs nothing to uplift someone, and it changes everything.
I also share a small challenge you can try today—one that can instantly deepen connection, build trust, and give someone the confidence boost they didn’t even know they needed.
